We started off with a new set of shelving for Members to store equipment (Official Announcement including terms and conditions coming soon!) and finished up with a BBQ at Mark’s CNC factory on Friday Evening.
A Special big thanks this week goes out this week to:
Gavin Jackson for taking a ute load of junk out of the space and helping assemble/rearrange things for the shelves.
John Boxall for the magnificent donations of the new SMD rework station and 3 component drawers.
Mark Agar for hosting what will hopefully be the first of many BBQ’s at his factory.

New shelves have just given Geoff a lot more work 🙂
MY GOD! The President is a CYBORG. (That would totally work as a movie title)
A Massive thanks to John Boxall for donating this SMD rework station

New Shelving in place.
Friday night’s BBQ involved turning bigger bits of metal into smaller ones (quite aside from cold drinks and BBQ’ed meat in bread).
Plasma!
Some Dense Matter (also some metal). I Kid! I Kid!
This support beam was freshly cut (see the youtube video) and has a surprisingly smooth finish.
Close up of the plasma finish.
Forgot to put a coin for size. trust me, it’s a big vice.
That’s the second biggest grinder I’ve ever seen!
Open season on the water jet and the scrap pile meant some cool stuff got cut out.
This is just one piece we had a go at.
Some sample depth cuts from the waterjet.
Avid observers.
So this is what a waterjet cutter software interface looks like.
